Chia (Salvia Hispanica) contains film-forming polysaccharides, triglycerides rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, and essential lipids that provide lubrication and conditioning, combined with proteins which help in the formation of an adhesive film to the cuticle, improving stress-strain properties of the strands.
