Yacon root juice, an alternative to honey, for intense hydration and hair shine

Yacon is the Quecha word for water. The plant originates in the Andean regions of Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Argentina at altitudes between 2000 and 3100 meters. Seivamel®, supplied by Aqia, is a stabilised yacon hydrolysate and is a natural, 100% plant-origin based ingredient with a natural mimetic composition similar to that of honey.

Seivamel® is a vegan-friendly option, because, like honey, it is rich in fructose and glucose which promotes intense hydration and softening to dry, dull hair. Seivamel® is also rich in mineral salts such as potassium, zinc, calcium and micronutrients that are essential to the capillary system. Micronutrients are major elements in the normal hair follicle cycle, playing a role in cellular turnover, a frequent occurrence in the matrix cells in the follicle bulb that are rapidly dividing.
