BioBeads leave no trace

Did you know that a single shower adds 100,000 plastic microbeads to the ocean?

Polyethylene microbeads are little spheres of plastic less than 0.5 mm in size that are added to personal care products and cosmetics as exfoliants. However, since they cannot be removed by sewage filtration systems, they end up in rivers and oceans (eight million tonnes of plastic entering the ocean every year). They are then ingested by birds, fish and other marine life and, besides being harmful to wildlife could potentially end up in our food.

Oat Cosmetics offers their newly launched biodegradable BioBeads that does not only exfoliate, but disintegrate (encapsulated into collapsible cellulose beads), delivering all the benefits of colloidal oatmeal.
