Protein hydrolysates (peptides)

Promois Collagen (cattle, swine, fish or fish scale)– Contain amino acids such as hydroxyproline, serine and threonine as constituent amino acid, moisturising and softening skin and damaged hair. MW range 400 – 4000. Small pack sizes available (liquids and powders)

Promois Keratin (sheep wool) – Cystine-containing (-S-S-) as well as cysteic acid moiety (-SO3H) are available. These peptides have a high affinity for hair, the high MW peptides can be used as film-formers (curl retention) and the lower MW peptides can be used to treat damaged hair (permeation into the inner hair shaft). MW range 400 – 30 000.

Promois Casein (milk) – Moisturising to hair and skin because of the ¼ (molar ratio) acidic amino acid in casein. Calcium-removing effect helps to improve the potential performance of shampoos and hair conditioners. Protect the skin from possible irritation by surfactants. MW 600.

Promois Silk (silk) - Fibroin peptide’s high film-forming ability on the hair cuticles gives gloss and smoothness to damaged hair. Sericin peptide is moisturising on skin and hair.

Promois Conchiolin (pearl shell) – Film-forming and moisturising on hair. Suppresses elastase activity and eliminates reactive oxygen species in skin. MW 600.

Promois Vegetable derived peptides

(soy, wheat, pea, rice)

These peptides contain acidic amino acids including glutamic acid and aspartamic acid with moisturising properties to skin and hair.

Promois Quaternised ammonium derivatives

The cationic protein derivatives (collagen, keratin, casein, silk, conchiolin, soy and wheat) have increased adsorption to the hair, having a anti-static, conditioning effects on the hair.

Promois Acylated derivatives

These protein hydrolysates (collagen, silk, soy), which are linked to various fatty acids (potassium cocoyl, sodium cocoyl, TEA-cocoyl, isostearoyl, sodium lauroyl), are used in mild shampoos, face washes and even as emulsifiers.

Promois Silated derivatives

The protein hydrolysate (collagen, keratin, silk, soy, wheat, sesame) provides a hair-repairing function, while the silicone molecule coats the cuticles, repairing damage, reduces fading of hair colour, prevents heat damage.

Esterified derivatives(silk)

The ethyl ester is soluble in alcohol, and can be used in hair sprays, nail enamels.

The Vegetamide range consists of ionic complexes where the carboxylic group of the specific plant peptide (rice or pea) is connected to aliphatic cationic compounds having C16 – 18 moieties through ionic bonds. It can function as a replacement for the outer cuticle layer (F-layer), repairing the damaged hair surface by selective adsorption to the damaged regions. It removes static, improves combing, texture and softness and adds to the hydrophobicity of the hair strands.

Cost-effective film-forming hair conditioner which adds softness, imparts gloss and manageability to treated hair, enhances and prolongs hair colour, without build-up on the hair. It is recommended for shampoos, conditioners, hair waxes and hair dyes.
